we are pleased to share with you this race manual of the upcoming 15th edition of Oravaman XTRI Solo Point Five. Through the years we gained experience and learned a lot about the organization of events. We always wanted to keep improving and bring you a race like no other.

Have you ever wanted to try an XTRI® but felt it slightly out of your comfort zone, too difficult to find a support runner, driver, or both? XTRI SOLO POINT FIVE™ is a shorter but no less extreme option based on our original extreme triathlon format, but without the need for a support crew.

This manual will provide you all important information about the main race. Reading, understanding, and following the manual will help us both - athletes and organizers.

Please read this race manual carefully. Come well prepared. Don´t forget to train hard on bike and run, focus on steep uphill and downhill trail running, it will be very useful for you. This unique race is very challenging, it requires lot of training, concentration, determination, and humility. We wish you good luck in your preparation and we see you in July in Zuberec.

We kindly ask you to come on time on Friday – there can be traffic – jams on the road, so don´t leave it to the last minute (try travel on Thursday or leave early on Friday morning).

📋 Oravaman in brief

Since 2011, Oravaman is a weekend-long event with unique race spirit, familiar and friendly atmosphere, professional organization, and high-quality services. Our main goal is to keep improving and being fancied and unique. Since the beginning, the race is situated at the picturesque Penzión Pribiskô in Zuberec, the centre and headquarters of the race.

Our goal is to organize a safe race for all that take part – athletes, organizers and our families. Since 2023 Oravaman is part of the XTRI World Tour as an official XTRI SOLO POINT FIVE race.

  4. Organized with minimum of advertising smog
  5. Unsupported, non-drafting race, with bike course closed for traffic.
  6. Race where you can face all kind of weather and you must run with mandatory equipment.
  7. Event, where no body goes home after the finish. You meet new friends, you eat, you dance, you enjoy the after-party and FINISHER T-Shirt ceremony.

To maintain the quality and originality of the race, it is important that athletes, their friends and families understand the race philosophy and the importance of the rules. The race logistics is very demanding, so it is essential to establish basic rules, regulations, and instructions. We kindly ask you to read next lines carefully. Reading, understanding, and following the RACE MANUAL is mandatory to all, who take part at Oravaman.

🧭 Race course

All athletes Oravaman XTRI Solo Point Five compete in extreme half distance triathlon. This means 2 km of swimming, 86 km of road cycling and 19.5 km of trail-running. Time is measured with chip technology. Mobile phone is mandatory on bike and run course. Athletes wil carry GPS tracker on bike and run.

In Zuberec, you'll return through the intersection by the church three times:

From 6:50 to 7:00 the T1 must be empty.

🎒 Transition 1

🏃‍♂️ Run 19.5 km, 1250 m Elevation

Saturday 4:30 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. – Handover of mandatory running equipment in white bag with sticker with running shoes, clothes, nutrition and mandatory equipment – wind-proof jacket (vest or pullover is not allowed), head band (buff), running backpack, 1 gel or snack and 1,0 L of drink). The mandatory equipment can be controlled during the handover and in finish. Athletes must hand their running bag with mandatory gear on a hanger in T2 on Saturday morning before boarding the bus.

Friday, July 10th 2026 at the race start

You can first go to T1 and than go to the registration.

Bike handover in T1 – Liptovská Mara (T1): 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., bring bike + ID card. After showing your ID card at the T1, you will receive a sticker with race number, place it under the saddle. The T1 will be protected by mesh and security service. All bikes will be covered with raincoat. No bike can be brought to T1 on Saturday. After the race, bikes and swimming equipment will be returned to athlete only upon showing the race number while leaving the FINISH area.

👕 Oravaman XTRI Solo Point Five – FINISHER T-Shirt

All successfull finishers of Oravaman XTRI Solo PoinT Five will recieve a unique FINISHER T-Shirt at the final ceremony. The Finisher T-Shirt ceremony will start on Saturday from 5 p.m. Finisher can get his/her T-Shirt at corner next to podium. After the winners ceremony there will be a FINISHER PHOTO of all successful Oravaman XTRI Solo Point Five FINISHER T-shirts in front of the podium with profesional photographer. Pictures will be printed at the restaurant.

Transport to start is by bus. There will be 1 bus for spectators – tickets 5 eur can be bought at registration on friday.

Time schedule is subject to change. Athletes will be informed by email about any change.

⛈ Unfavourable weather conditions

In case of an unfavourable or dangerous weather conditions, or unpredictable steps of local authorities or national park, organizers can shorten or modify any of the three disciplines (in advance or on-race day).

In case of sudden bad weather conditions (heavy rain or storm), organizers have the right to stop the race and athletes must respect this decision and follow the instructions of organizers. Race course can be modified, if the safety of athletes requires it.

🏔 CHANGE OF RUN COURSE

In case of any restrictions or prohibition from side the National Park organizers are allowed to change or move the run course to another location.

📌 Technical informations

Athletes are obliged to behave and race fairly and reasonably. We expect, that everyone who decides to take part at Oravaman is an experienced and well trained athlete with rational behaviour. Drafting, cheating and polluting during the race is strictly forbidden.

🔴 Oravaman XTRI Solo Point Five - INSTRUCTIONS

Friday 07/10:
bicycle handover in T1 (the start), Liptovská Mara damm at 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Bring in bicycle and ID card

You will receive a sticker for your bike in T1

Bike handover sticker

Hand in only your bicycle at T1, you will bring helmet and shoes by bus next morning. You will pick it up at finish area identifying yourself with your race number.

The race day 07/11

4:30 - 5:00 a.m. Hand your sack with your running equipment and mandatory equipment (wind-proof jacket, headband, running bag, 1l drink, 1 gel / snack). All athletes are responsible for placing their running bags correctly on their hanger in T2 on time on Saturday morning before boarding the bus.

5:00 - 5:10 a.m. bus boarding, transport to the start.

Bikes will be stored in the T1 by numbers. After the swim, your wetsuit, cap and goggles must be put in your sack and tied with a knot.

The organizers aren’t responsible for any stuff left out of the sacks.

Individual: 2km (2 laps).
Start at 7:00 a.m.

cycling

Respect the traffic rules. From 0 to 86km of the course road is closed for traffic. It is mandatory to ride only on the right part of the road, never you are allowed to cross middle line. The race is NON DRAFTING. SELFSUPPORT refreshment point at Koliba Holica

in T2

When you get to T2, you give the bike to organizers and you take your running white bag from hanger, get ready for the run, place the helmet and cycling shoes into the white bag, put it back on the hanger with your race number.

T2 transition

do not litter

Is strictly forbidden to litter anywhere on the race course. Any waste must by given to the organizers at the refreshment points. Conscious pollution of nature = DSQ

in the finish - Meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Dinner - will be served from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

🚫 Key rules — break them = DSQ

  • No drafting — keep min. 10 m behind another cyclist
  • Never cross the center line — ride on the right only
  • No littering — give all waste to organizers at ref. points
  • Neoprene suit OK; neoprene socks & gloves forbidden
  • Running poles forbidden
  • No outside / technical help on the bike course
  • Follow STOP times strictly — no excuses accepted
  • Obey organizers, firemen & police at all times

🔁 Transitions — quick

T1 (after swim): put wetsuit, cap & goggles into the black sack, tie a knot. Put on race belt (number on back), helmet, phone + GPS tracker. Leave T1 with bike in hand; mount past the referee line.

T2 (after bike): hand bike to organizers, take your white bag from the hanger, change into running shoes, put helmet + bike shoes into the bag, hang it back. Keep phone + GPS tracker on you, race number to the front.

💧 Refreshments

  • Bike: self-support point at Koliba Holica (Huty pass) — water/ion + banana. Carry your own supplies.
  • Run 11 km: Roháče Spálená parking — snack, water, cola, fruit
  • Run 18 km: Orava Village Museum — water & cola only
  • Finish: meals 11:30–6:00 p.m. · dinner 7:00–9:00 p.m. (bring tickets)
